Creation of Stainless Surfaces on Inexpensive Carbon and Low-Alloyed Steels with LINTERPROCESS-SS Technology
Performance of many various types of carbon and low-alloyed steels can be enhanced with LINTERPROCESS-SS™ technologies, making them useable in construction and other industries where corrosion is a factor. Custom protective non-corrosive diffusion layers can be created efficiently and inexpensively on components of many simple and complicated shapes and sizes, dramatically improving their performance and longevity, while reducing cost of production, operation and maintenance.
Various LINTERPROCESS-SS™ treatment technologies are utilized by SANOVA for creation of stable anticorrosion stainless surfaces (SS) on different steels. Positive corrosion testing results for special gear alloy Pyrowear X-53 are represented in below.
Results of such treatments, performed on cylindrical components manufactured from plain carbon steels with various quantities of carbon, such as AISI-1010 (0.10% C), AISI-1018 (0.18%C) and AISI-1045 (0.45%C), as well as from low-alloyed steel AISI-8620, high-alloyed steel AISI-H13 special gear alloy Pyrowear X-53 are presented below.
Stainless surface (SS) with high carbon content and high strength core (I), and corresponding micro-hardness profile (II) (bottom line - base metal surface, upper line - treated surface (Hk500 micro-hardness) created from base structure (III) of various low carbon and alloyed steels by scanning LINPROCESS-SSTM technology (magnification- X 100).
